Gear up: Aberfeldy's new community cycle workshop opens on 3rd July!

Riders of Perthshire: get ready to pump up those tyres and lube those chains, because something big is rolling into town! We’re thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of the Draft & Flow Community Cycle Workshop, right here in the heart of Aberfeldy.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday the 3rd July – that’s the big day when we throw open our doors to the community.

A Community Effort

This isn't just any workshop. The Draft & Flow Community Cycle Workshop is a product of our amazing local community coming together. Over the past few months, we've had the incredible help of Aberfeldy residents who pitched in with everything from fundraising to painting and cleaning, building workbenches and organizing tools. Thanks to your hard work and dedication, the workshop is looking fantastic and ready to welcome riders of all ages and skill levels.

What’s in Store?

So, what can you expect when you walk through our doors on July 3rd? The Draft & Flow Community Cycle Workshop is more than just a place to fix your bike. We’re here to keep you riding and to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy the fantastic riding opportunities Aberfeldy offers. Here's a sneak peek at what we offer:

• Accessible Cycle Servicing: Affordable and expert bike repairs to get you back on the road quickly – but also a space for you to carry out your own repairs with our toolkits and stands!
• Cycle Maintenance Education: Learn how to keep your bike in top shape with our hands-on courses.
• Local Riding Info: Discover new routes and get tips on the best local rides.
• Inclusive Social Space: Connect with fellow cyclists and share your passion in a welcoming environment.

Membership Perks

Becoming a member of our workshop comes with some fantastic perks. For a suggested pledge of £39 per year (or £29 if you’re under 18), you’ll get:

• 10% discount on servicing, parts, and accessories.
• 50% discount on educational courses.
• Free access to community tools for your DIY bike fixes.
• Spare parts bin to help build or repair your bike.

And if you pledge £39 or more, you’ll also receive a stylish Draft & Flow t-shirt as a special thank you.

However, don’t despair if you can’t afford the membership. In line with our mission as a Community Interest Company, we don’t want to put anybody off from joining the workshop. That’s why we’ve decided to adopt a “pay-what-you-can” approach to memberships.

How Will Your Support Help?

Your early support is crucial in helping us put the finishing touches on the workshop and ensuring we can open our doors in July. Funds raised will go towards purchasing essential bike tools, covering start-up costs like rent and utilities, stocking common bike parts for quick servicing, and building a “rainy day” fund to keep us going during the slow seasons.
